Chhapra (H.K.Verma): In tune with the desire of PM Narendra Modi to hold National Youth Parliament (Mock Parliament) to gauge the pulse of the youth, J.P.University at Chhapra is all set to organize Youth Parliament on Friday, the 25th of this month in its senate Hall. It may be recalled that Modi during his one of the “Man Ki Baat” had expressed desire to hold such youth parliament with a view to hand pick candidates to enable them to be the voice of New India and also to find out solutions to country’s ailments.

Disclosing this Prof. Tanuka Chatterji, Prof.in charge of Rajendra College unit of NSS (National Service Scheme) and a member of the organizing committee of this Parliament said on Tuesday “This novel concept of Mock Parliament takes cognizance of the fact that the youth of this nation are indispensable to the character building of the society” adding that this enterprise has been launched at district, state and national level under the aegis of ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through NSS and Nehru Yuva Sangathan. She further hoped that this is likely to inaugurate a new era of democracy in the country.

This enterprise has given opportunity to the participating youths to apply both in digital format and an offline mode across different districts of the country, she said and added that the preliminary screening of the participants has been done in Saran district and about 69 candidates have been selected for final presentation on Friday. “The Vice Chancellor, Professor Harikesh Singh has decided white attire (dress code) for both boys and girls during presentation in this Mock Parliament” Prof. Tanuka informed and said that the participants would be evaluated on the basis of their articulate prowess, content, clarity of the thought and their demeanour. The topics informed by the NSS directorate has been ‘India sets global narratives on terrorism, on economic offenders, on climate change, ‘Khelo’ India and best time for Indian sports Persons to make a mark. Each participant would be allowed only 2 minutes of time for the presentation, she said.
