Chhapra: About 289 cases against SC/ST are pending in different Police stations under Saran district from 2015-2018. This was disclosed by Yogendra Paswan, Member of National Commission for SC/ST at Chhapra after reviewing the progress of the different welfare schemes launched by the State and Union Governments on Wednesday.

Paswan directed the  Saran SP  to expedite these cases so that the guilty persons could get punishment.

He also directed the DM to provide suitable land for the establishment of a school for SC/ST students in the district. “After receipt of the report from the DM, the Commission would take necessary steps to establish this school” informed Paswan adding that the Principal of local jagdam College has been consented to provide land for the construction of a hostel for about 100 bed. students on its premises.

He further informed that steps have been taken to construct a Library and Kitchen on the premises of local Ambedkar Hostel.
